I decided early on that I wanted the undercarriage cut-out on the bottom half, and the corresponding part with blister and/or bridgework on the top half, to be brass inlays, for reasons of scale thickness and advantages of working with metal. This is the method I used for accurate placement of a plastic blank on the mold (so as to produce a recess for the brass, both of thickness 0,11 mm). First step was to fabricate the cut outs.
