This blog picks up from my thread on LSP forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=9319&st=225&start=225, which hasn't been updated since the Summer of 2007. Because I keep experimenting with new techniques (at least for me), and also because of lack of time, progress on this build is very slow: the cockpit has been in the works for over two years now and is still not finished. What little headway I do make does not really constitute very interesting material for a forum, so to avoid contributing clutter to LSP - in my opinion the best and most informative modelling site around - I've decided to create this blog. It will serve as a detailed record of this undertaking, and as an aide-memoire for my next Spitfire project. For dimensions and innumerable details I rely on a quite extraordinary set of plans from Monforton Press http://www.monfortonpress.com/. Paul Monforton's soon-to-be-published book promises to be a milestone in Spitfire engineering research.
